Selection & application notes
- Identify the existing coating system and antifouling type first — stacking different antifouling mechanisms can cancel each other out.
- Overcoating intervals and launch time are critical; beyond the maximum interval the surface must be re-prepared or a tie coat applied.
- Antifouling is not normally sealed with another coat — extra coverage would slow the release of the active substance.
