Guangzhou Salvage Bureau Pile-Stabilising Platform

Offshore engineering equipment (pile-stabilising platform) · Guangzhou (for offshore wind pile-driving operations)

The pile-stabilising platform built for the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport measures 62 m × 26 m × 26 m and weighs about 1,100 t, supporting large monopile foundation installation in deep water. Its main structure uses a brochure-listed system of Zindn cold-galvanising primer + 600 µm epoxy glass flake + 80 µm epoxy topcoat. The case is taken from Zindn's public material.

Project overview

A pile-stabilising platform positions and steadies monopile foundations during offshore wind pile-driving. The platform commissioned by the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport measures 62 m × 26 m × 26 m, weighs about 1,100 t and supports large monopile foundation installation in deep water. It is documented in Zindn's Anti-Corrosion Coatings in Offshore Applications.

Corrosion-protection challenges

  • The equipment is deployed offshore long term, with splash-zone spray and salt deposition combined;
  • Pile frames and grippers suffer friction and impact during driving, demanding high damage resistance from the coating;
  • Large components are built in sections and joined on site, so the coating system must support on-site touch-up.
