Project overview
The Dongfang 13-2 gas field lies in the Yinggehai Basin of the western South China Sea at about 70 m water depth, with proven reserves of roughly 100 billion m³. Development comprises one central platform and two wellhead platforms with 30 production wells in total; once on stream, annual gas output exceeds 3 billion m³. Corrosion and fire-protection challenges
- With open-sea work in 70 m of water, jacket coating has to be completed during onshore fabrication in one pass;
- High temperature, high humidity and heavy salt spray combine with a hydrocarbon-bearing gas-field environment;
- The central platform's process area has fire-zone requirements.
